The first day of DeVoxx is here. It kicks off with a university day.
The first session today is a session about Kanban. This is a very refreshing way of looking at doing agile/lean development projects. During the session there often even was a reference to maintenance teams using Kanban as methodology they would work with.
Unlike scrum, Kanban doesn’t focus on working in iterations. It focusses more on a natural flow of work. Trying to pull the units of work through all the different stages.
The second session was about OpenESB. Sang Shin presented some cool labs on building composite apps with openESB, JBI and Netbeans he has on javapassion.com. They are certainly worth looking at. Give it a go when you have the time.
Then we continued with a session on Hades. Some cool stuff those guys at synyx have done. Check out hades.synyx.org.
